A couple of popular ones: Piracetam, Noopept, Phenibut(addictive), and many others.

Personally I see nothing wrong with the use of cognition enhancing drugs because none of them really make you THAT overclocked. They arent even slightly close to NZT-48.

I see it as a nice motivating factor in studies and a part of school, though I personally dont take any of them regularly, when I do it is more like a one time thing to keep me concentrated on studying and whatever else.

Whats your thoughts on this?
Some will consider it unfair, or unnatural or weak.

It's all about how people define reward in life. In our modern society, people define reward in the most destructive manners possible, such as:

- Taking a flight to Paris to visit museums. This destroys the planet in many ways given the kerosene consumption and the pollution related to building and maintaining the airplane.

- Eating food. Many destroy their liver eating kilograms of chocolate cakes, cold cuts and diary products.

- Spending money on things they don't actually need, like IKEA furniture, mainly to impress other people and feel good about themselves. If you watched Fight Club you know what I mean.

- Taking trips with their car. Long trips, 1,000s of miles long. Of course this implies pollution by gasoline consumption, and by the upstream/downstream processes related to its production.

- Sex. The fact that this is a correct way to obtain reward renders it highly penalized. You cannot cheat on your wife. You cannot fuck your co-worker, or boss. You cannot fuck a 17 y.o. because in your state she's a minor before 18. You can't fuck without a condom, you can't fuck at a party. At the end of the day, you can't fuck anyone.

All you need to access your reward system is yourself. You sit back and meditate. With some skill, the body will produce cannabinoids, similar to, or even better than THC. This has to stop. I am afraid of what it would actually take for them to stop doing what they do, a mass climate change maybe. Billions dead.

The essence of the problem is that, the dopaminergic/serotonergic and adrenergic reward you would get out of taking a 2 week trip to France to climb a mountain can be found in about 2 grams of cocaine, 0.7 grams of dexedrine or 0.8 grams of methamphetamine.

50 pounds of chocolate cake, for a person, can equal a chemical reward found in 1g of cocaine, and if you compare the health benefits of taking 1g of cocaine over eating 50 pounds of chocolate cake, your liver, kidneys and pancreas will thank you with open arms for choosing the cocaine.

So what is the problem? The cocaine alternative is far too cheap to relieve a person's stress. When manufactured in a legal context, 1g of cocaine would cost approximately 5$ at the local pharmacy, therefore, with 10$, you would get the same excitement you would get out of a 15,000$ trip to France. By regulating the maximum amount of compound a person could purchase daily, this is more than feasible in a safe manner.

However, it is very easy to realize how that would destroy our economy. Only an idiot would invest 15,000$ to go on a trip, if you can just watch a YouTube video of it on cocaine and feel like you're already there.

Our economy is based on the most inefficient, the most destructive and the most unsafe ways of obtaining chemical reward. We're just not there yet. We are not yet in the time where a dude taking cocaine will be appreciated for not relieving his stress polluting our planet or in some other retarded way like street racing. We are not yet there. Old people have to die. New people have to gain power. We gotta wash one more generation for it to happen. Just one more.

I really want them to tell me how they will have fun on Mars. Will they eat a chocolate cake? When it takes millions of dollars to get a pound of it into space? Will they take the plane to Paris to visit a museum? From Mars? I patiently wait, hoping that answer will one day come.
