Whether or not individual bishops actually screwed up and put priests they believed were going to victimize children remains to be known if it will ever be known.

Do not give me that bullshit. That is merely your apologist answer so that you can sleep better at night despite the fact that you know quite well precisely what a corrupt institution you support. You disgust me, and you do not deserve to call yourself a human.

How is that?

Religious faith: I have faith that god will ensure the sun rises tomorrow.
There is no evidence that any god has any hand in whether or not the sun will rise.

Secular hope: I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow.
There is proof that the sun rises around the same time every day. We have validation from it being a repeatable action. No god is required for understanding that the sun will rise around the same time every day.
