First - since we do not know how much of the creation of the christ was accomplished by human writers of the bible - (All or some) - there really is no way to determine this.

It was - and is custom - for the womans family to supply the food at the wedding feast - and the Man to supply the drinks. At Canaan, why go to Mary to tell her they were running out of wine - UNLESS the person getting married was her son.
