That's my personal preference. If I was satisfied I wouldn't be driven to improve. And in fact, that could even cause problems that ultimately make me more unhappy.

No no... you say this because you are not currently satisfied. If you were satisfied, then you would not be dissatisfied with yourself, and wouldn't want to improve
Fact is you are NOT satisfied, and aren't thinking from the position of what being satisfied would mean ^_^
