Revelation 17,10
1. Augustus 1/5 Fallen
2. Tiberius 2/5 Fallen
3. (Gaius) Caligula 3/5 Fallen
4. Claudius 4/5 Fallen
5. Nero 5/5 Fallen
6. Galba (Assassinated 1/15/69)
6A. Otho (Suicide April 16, 69)
6B. Vitellius (Assassinated December 22, 69)
7. Vespasian (Ruled for 10 years)
The author, sitting in Jerusalem in 68 and no doubt shitting his pants while Vespasian's army cut the city off from the outside world, indulged in some Jewish apocalyptic writing which was later co-opted by xtians who invented all sorts of stupid stories about it. The author can be forgiven for not guessing the brief reigns of Otho and Vitellius. That was unprecedented and this is politics....not "prophecy."
Quote:10 They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while.
