More a case of mistaken identity than meld. There is nothing scientific in Christian Science and cannot be construed as a mixture of Christianity and science. Christian Science is a misnomer.
I completely agree; I have seen nothing of science in it, outside of more focus on health issues;

Yet the concept of combining the term scientist with it, I think is what keeps it unique. And gains in its membership.

Yes, we're all well aware that christianity is hilariously inept at detecting the ironic nature of its doublespeak. What was your point?
I think we will see the church try to get back into science ; especially the catholic church; it misses its child.
