MoO2 is indeed a great game- one of the very best imho. I spent several years addicted to it. I was also addicted to Alpha Centauri at the time, so I sort of had dual game habit.
The great things about both of those games was that:
- you could design your own units
- there were multiple winning strategies
and
- you could play with the variables for map generation
Leading to many many possiblities.
