The great things about both of those games was that:
- you could design your own units
- there were multiple winning strategies
and
- you could play with the variables for map generation
Leading to many many possiblities.
I didn't play MoO2 as much as MoO, but from what I did play, i came to the conclusion that custom races were cheap
My other complaint with it was the space battles, it took up too much time and space when done in 2d
If it could be updated to 3D, then the system would be awesome, with each ship realistically taking up space ^_^ Aside from those though: a fantastic game indeed ^_^http://www.warpcore.org/~sirian/moo1/index.html <-- best MoO resource I've found... if you are a previous MoO player, you will read this and be very hungry to play again
