If it could be updated to 3D, then the system would be awesome, with each ship realistically taking up space ^_^ Aside from those though: a fantastic game indeed ^_^
http://www.warpcore.org/~sirian/moo1/index.html <-- best MoO resource I've found... if you are a previous MoO player, you will read this and be very hungry to play againIf you are not a MoO player, then if you read it you might understand just why I am obsessed with it
Here is a summation of MoO for those who don't want to read through the entire bloghttp://www.warpcore.org/~sirian/moo1/player.html
Well, the customized races did allow you to win easily on 'impossible' level, if thats what you were really into (Creative + tech advantages = win; also Telepathic + other stuff = win). Yeah, I agree- pretty

And you could also try novel strategies. For example, I remember designing a race that was maxed out for ground combat (normally something that you'd buy down ). The plan was to use shuttles to capture the Orion ships when they turned up, and then use the Orion technology to conquer everyone else. It worked...sort of- not an optimal strategy, for sure, but interesting all the same.
The space combat simply gave a big advantage to the human, since the AI sucked at space combat.
I only played the original MoO a few times. When I decided to buy it, MoO2 came out, so I bought that instead. And I 've never played MoO3 at all- from what I've heard its a very bad game.
