The problem with hell is that it isn't for bad people. It's for people who displease Yahweh. While these two groups may overlap, they aren't the same. Jeffrey Dahmer is supposedly in heaven, while Anne Frank isn't. The only case I could make for Hitler being in hell is that he decided to commit suicide. Otherwise he was a catholic, and presumably said the right things to the right god.
