This was something I wasn't aware of.
Apparently, it's happening and it's real.
Latest update from the Richard Dawkins' Facebook page:

For the sake of Pakistani freethinkers risking their lives, please sign this petition, and share it, especially with journalists, friends who know people at Facebook, and human rights groups: http://chn.ge/148nGTJ The petition asks the UN to protect freethinkers in Pakistan -- but we will present it to Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg as well. With the Pakistani election pending, Muslim extremists have successfully pressured Facebook to partly shut down a Pakistani Freethinkers facebook page within Pakistan (but viewable outside Pakistan).
Meanwhile pages of Muslim extremists remain up on Facebook -- including a page where extremists brag about killing 20 so-called apostates. Facebook lets the terrorist page stay up amid a terrorized Pakistani populace during an election season. Before you say this won't make any difference, remember earlier this year the Dawkins page petitioned to restore this same Pakistani Freethinkers page. We were successful.
Here's the freethinker page that is shut down within Pakistan: https://www.facebook.com/saaenji. The people running this page are risking their lives, so please sign and share this petition with as many people as possible. Here's a video from the Muslim extremist page where they brag about killing apostates: http://on.fb.me/15ut20h. -- Sean Faircloth, Dir. of Strategy & Policy

As you are all aware, I'm from Pakistan. I walk around egg shells day in and day out - avoiding discussion and avoiding talking about my lack of religious beliefs. People try to corner me regularly - but I do manage to "sneak" out of admitting what I truly believe.
Regardless, I am going to at least spread the word as best as I can - starting with places where my identity remains hidden.
Apparently, it's happening and it's real.
