The Fall as Allegorical Fiction.
#17
RE: The Fall as Allegorical Fiction.
The Garden of Eden story is very complex. It introduces the progenitor of the Jewish line that led to Jesus, who was to restore the true relationship between the Jews and their deity.

1 Corinthians 15:45 (NLT) = "The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit."

So when you read that passage you have to wonder what the definition of "man" is.

2 Esdras 7:116-117 (CEB) = "I answered: “This is my first and last word: It would have been better if the earth hadn’t brought forth Adam, or when it had brought him forth, that it had forced him not to sin. What does it benefit everyone to live in sadness during the present time, and when dead to expect punishment?" https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?se...ersion=CEB
