Odd how everyone wants to claim Jesus as one of their own, innit? For a liberal, I find it funny that Jesus exhibited all the signs of a xenophobic, intolerant bigot. Essentially, he seemed to feel that only Jews were actually 'people' and that those Jews who liked him were the best class of people.
Given the scriptural evidence of Jesus' overall paranoia, megalomania, hatred of foreigners, and funny ideas about economics, I'd say that it isn't only possible to be a conservative as well as a Christian, I'd call it a requirement.
