If you're talking about offline, I just did it for the kicks. You can game the stock market and basically double/triple your money up to 10 times or something like that. If you start off with about 40 mil (which is around what you get when you do the final heist) then you should have about 5/6 billion for each character. In fact I think Michael on my game has about 8 billion. Whereas Franklin and Trevor have about 5 or 6.
Online, I knew there was a glitch where people would log in to have a few million in the bank but that never happened to me. A 500k limit would be stupid seen as you can purchase (with actual money) in game money up to about 6 million I believe. I haven't heard of any 500k limit. Actually, aren't there cars and planes that cost more than 500k?
