The key difference in the definition being the Pope is elected and kings usually earn their power through hereditary succession.
Jails are full of Christians because non-believers turn to faith because they need something to get them through the misery of prison.
The pope is elected by a select group of cardinals and the divine right of kings to govern is usually earned through conquest and the connivence of the religious hierarchy. So again they fit the classic definition of dictators.
