Seriously, what's the point when you have digital delivery? Before digital delivery and amazon prime I'd get some multiplayer games pre-ordered from a local shop. That way I wasn't the guy stuck playing an old game while all my friends were on the new one. Now its just stupid.. all you get is some crappy bonus thing 100,000 other morons have.
I've paid full price for a game exactly once in the last 20 years (Skyrim... All the DLC too). Last years titles are new to me.. Bonus: you don't have to be on the ragged bleeding edge (or anywhere near it) with hardware.
The majority of games I get I'll keep an eye on them until they are on offer really cheap. I'm not sure about multiplayer ones. I prefer to get them a month or two later but even leaving it that late puts you at a pretty big disadvantage.

With VAT, that's gotta hurt (unless it's included, then it hurts a little less).Usually VAT is included but its still ridiculous. Getting into PC gaming is a huge outlay. Its probably why PC gaming hasn't kicked off in the UK anywhere near to how it has in the US. Its still makes way more sense to get a console here, even though those are pretty high cost too. Most people I know stayed on old gen actually.
