Wait until its been out a couple months. Pick it up once you find 75% off copies on G2A. Start playing on a double XP weekend and away you go.

I think so. I knew like 20-30 people that pre ordered BF4. I don't know a single person who pre-ordered Hardline. In fact I think I'm the only person I know of thats interested in getting Hardline. I was lucky in that I got the game with premium for much less than most people spent on the game alone, I also got it after some of the worst glitches had been fixed.

Exactly. I think its just a waste of resources better spent making the main part of the game worth playing.

Sure, if they buy it at release - I buy the damn things on steam for ten bucks when they go on sale. I get my money's worth, I'll sometimes fire up COD / COD2 sometimes when I'm needing to kill some virtual nazis.
Such games simply aren't worth sixty bucks to me. £60? Holy shit, you guys get hosed.
Your point is well taken, though - single player games with shitty multiplayer bolted on suck (as do primarily multiplayer games with craptastic single player).

Its really bad for any electronics at all. A lot of the time our computer parts cost the same in £ as they do in $.. its ridiculous.

In the clip they make jokes about killing people in mosques in video games and how it would be probably illegal. Bullshit, I've shot plenty of people in video game mosques. In fact I'm pretty sure I've even done that in battlefield 3.. At this point I have the feeling I've shot just about every group of people in about every location there is at some point or another in game.
The real question is why are Dice/EA wasting time on single player missions when nobody gives a shit about single player.
Because that's how they're able to charge $60 and people have conniptions if they are sold a multiplayer only game. Plus it allows for cool trailer moments to sell the game.
On the more serious side, I also like watching video game walkthroughs on YouTube. Plus if a game's story mode is really good, like in the BioShock series (even BioShock Infinite which was the worst of the BioShocks was a cut above any other video game), they create memories that last forever. I was frustrated by COD4 and its hacker filled multiplayer but was able to enjoy the story, especially the stealth missions.
Of course, I think that if you want to try and do singleplayer campaigns and multiplayer deathmatch in an FPS, you should put actual effort into both of them for the sake of reaching as many consumers as possible. Sadly, one of them always gets tacked on- either the campaign is a four hour interactive cutscene or the multiplayer is a tired rehash of the same old game modes.

Pre-ordering to me seems like trolling for suckers. Seriously, what's the point when you have digital delivery?
I've paid full price for a game exactly once in the last 20 years (Skyrim... All the DLC too). Last years titles are new to me. . Bonus: you don't have to be on the ragged bleeding edge (or anywhere near it) with hardware.
I've heard you guys get boned on hardware pricing. With VAT, that's gotta hurt (unless it's included, then it hurts a little less).

The only item I ever preordered was the Blu-ray of 300: Rise of an Empire. Then I realized how dumb that was, canceled it, rented it, and then saw that the movie was terrible. I can't imagine doing this for a game, much less any AAA game where you know you're going to be dunking $60. And for what? Pre-order bonuses that are going to show up anyway (because people will complain about not getting content) in a Game of the Year Edition? And don't get me started on "collector's editions"! Throw in the artbook, soundtrack CD, making of documentary, commentaries, etc. then you can probably charge your $60-$80.

That way I wasn't the guy stuck playing an old game while all my friends were on the new one. Now its just stupid.. all you get is some crappy bonus thing 100,000 other morons have.
The majority of games I get I'll keep an eye on them until they are on offer really cheap. I'm not sure about multiplayer ones. I prefer to get them a month or two later but even leaving it that late puts you at a pretty big disadvantage.

Usually VAT is included but its still ridiculous. Getting into PC gaming is a huge outlay. Its probably why PC gaming hasn't kicked off in the UK anywhere near to how it has in the US. Its still makes way more sense to get a console here, even though those are pretty high cost too. Most people I know stayed on old gen actually.
