How do you get killed by 12 volts?
By using it to generate a tiny spark while you stand in a pool of gasoline?
If 12 volts flow through your body, you body becomes the resistor that limits the current flow in the circuit. So with your skin in the way, 12 volts ain't gonna kill you. That's why car batteries are not labeled with skull and crossbones.
