Clearly the whole world is filled with debate and argument... but have any of you studied, or can shed a light on conflict resolution. For example, the sort of training marriage guidance counsellors might undertake?
My reason of thinking is say let's, take the scenario, you're a bloke, in a bar, and there's a woman walking towards you carrying a tray of drinks, and you move sharply to your right to get out of her way, as any gentleman would do. But in doing so, you knock the arm of another bloke and spill his beers down his trousers (or pants). Now at this point you say sorry, but potentially this guy is cross and shouts and calls you names and you then focus on the abusive response and get cross back about being called bad things...
Now, WW3 could start right there... and clearly that's how arguments develop.. we don't focus on the subject matter, but just react...
Are there techniques or methodologies which can help two warring parties come to agreement?
