But the same could be said about a lot of other very popular books and movies and has way more to do with understanding literary tropes and story structure than anything to do with Christianity.

If I had to categorize them, I'd say Voldemort is the Satan-figure (like, duh), Harry is Jesus and Dumbledore is a way better, wiser, nicer, less-assholey version of God.
Yes there is Christian imagery out the ears in Harry Potter.
Harry begins as an innocent narrowly escaping homicide by a tyrant (Voldemort) due to a prophecy about Harry's future greatness. (Herod, the wise men, and Jesus). Harry is not the son of god, nor does he have a preaching career or disciples. But he does sacrifice himself for the greater good, and he does rise from the dead. And his sacrifice makes the death of the tyrant possible.
Add that what Harry has and Voldermort lacks is love, and you can make a lot of Christian hay with Harry Potter.

It's plain as day. The thing that puzzles me is how few Christians seem to see it. But perhaps they stopped reading long before The Deathly Hollows.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
