There are so many horror stories told about this scenario.
There is a story every other week here in the UK about this, a week or two ago a 'moderate' Muslim got angry because his wife and daughter rejected Islam. Decided to shoot them both.
I suppose you could argue that he didn't try to stone/behead them, progress of a sort ?
Women going to visit their Muslim boyfriends home country, perhaps he invites you to travel to meet his family, and being unable to leave. Or kidknapping their children and traveling to the middle East to Islamise them.
There was a horrible honour crime a year or two back in the UK that stuck with me, where the young Muslim man was ordered by his family to kill his lover. He threw her in the canal, and as she tried to pull herself out he stuck a claw hammer into her head.
You couldn't be unaware of these things, his believes in a religion that if followed means he owns you and has the right to beat/kill/rape you.
In the end its up to you, but be careful.
