I've gotten two offers of arranged marriages to a Muslim woman, provided I convert to Islam. The first was from my sister's neighbor, who offered HIS sister, a 16 year-old back in Saudi. My idiot Christian brother-in-law was like 'Why not? They're rich and you're not a Christian'. Maybe not, but I AM enough of a romantic to not do acquire a teenage bride like brokered livestock. I'm sure her brother's motivation was to have an American relative for business purposes.
The second was years later, a Somali Bantu refugee whose family I was helping out offered me her 12-year-old daughter...not to be actually done until she reached 18, though Mom would probably have been okay with 14 back home. Combination of gratitude and opportunity for a rich (speaking very relatively) son-in-law is my guess.
Maybe I look too much like good in-law material.
