Nobody wants it, there's not a lot of money in it at the moment. We have no sure thing as far as colonial prospects go. We get a sure thing, and perhaps some corporation or government will want to tap the 'unspoiled riches' of the 'new earth'.
FTL unlocks a lot of exploration potential. Better with FTL communications. Also, if any space agency can do colonial prospects justice, it's the Japanese.
