I read you the first time. I disagree with the premise that mentioning it is using it to political advantage.
When you dismiss it as such, you become part of the problem ... if you weren't already.

Me, I think airing out racist thinking, exposing it to sunlight, is a good thing. Two critters don't like sunlight: cockroaches, and rats.
