I'm 5'10" and 160#. I fought off a gut who had at least a hundred pounds on me who was wielding copper conduit, trying to kill me. I lost about half my left ear in the fight when he bit it off, to be sure, but be it noted, I didn't have a gun, or pepper spray, or a taser. The idea that the cop had to use deadly force to defend himself is appealing to simple minds and armchair tough guys, but if I can defend myself against someone trying to kill me without killing him, shouldn't a cop -- trained to a higher extent than I ever have been -- shouldn't that cop be able to manage the situation better?

Well good for you, you are either braver or more stupid than Wilson. Bravery and stupidity are very hard to tell apart.
You didn't run away or shoot the guy and you got half your ear bitten off. Maybe Wilson didn't want his ear bitten off either, or worse.

It makes no sense to me after someone gives you lip, to attempt to physically confront them at a tactical disadvantage. Being the physical wimp I am, I learned a long time ago, that you dont touch someone or invade their space.

Why is it that every time I question your stupid assertions about physical confrontation, tactical disadvantage and invading space, you just totally ignore it? This is a debate forum isn't it? Why don't you debate at all?

What is stupid?

If you have to take control of a situation it would make more sense to be standing and have some distance starting off. A seated position and in close proximity initiating contact in a seated position does not seem to me an ideal situation.

You will not find any cop training manual that says it is a good idea to grab someone through a car window in a seated position. You will not find any cop training manual that tells a cop to slam a car door into someones legs because they mouthed off to you.

No one is making this about Wilson's title. No one is making it about Brown's wrongful reaction.

You can staple your nuts to the wall but that does not make it a good idea.
