I was born and I lived in Italy, I don't speak Arabic but I'm planning to learn it, because I feel Arab.
I am atheist and I feel that we are not very accepted. When I traveled to any Arab country, I always said that I was Muslim. I don't know what it would happen.
There is a problem, and I think that we Arab atheists should gather up and start solving the issue. First of all it would be good to know more Arab atheists, talk with them just to exchange opinions and suggestions on how to afford the issue.
I have many questions to ask to the Arab atheists who live in Arab countries, specially the ones that don't have religious freedom, such as the gulf states.
Welcome.
My understanding is that there are large communities of closeted atheists even within some of the most devout nations of the Middle East.
I follow several groups on FB from Iran, Iraq, and Syria.
