Of course this was only a very bare-bones look at science, aimed at people who seem to utterly misunderstand it.
I've heard things like, "Science doesn't want to prove that..." and such nonsense. This is translated into reality as, "The scientific community as a whole are refusing to test and prove the clearly demonstrable fact that..."
No. Science deals with what is true and what is real. And it works. I hope my little discussion has helped adjust the opinion of a few people at least
