The terms 'microevolution' and 'macroevolution' were originally used by evolutionary biologists to describe the evolution of a species as compared to an ancestor species ('microevolution'), and as compared to an extant species with which it shares a common ancestor ('macroevolution').
Creationists have hi-jacked and twisted the definitions, but they are nonetheless scientifically valid terms.
