To Christians...Theocracy?

The slavery threads made me curious about how the religious guests on this forum feel about Christian theocracy. I have a lot of questions. Atheists can answer of course but I would really like to hear from some of the religious people who visit this site

If you are a Christian, do you think that a theocracy that used your bible to create its laws would be a good place to live?

Just so we are on the same page I will be using this defination for theocracy to answer your questions.

First answer: no.
Every theocracy, eventually fails, due to the corruptiblity of man. Even at the height of theocracy under David and even under the wisest man Solomon still failed because those in power, always succumb to sin. When these men fall, everyone around them typically falls as well, because the worship lines between God and goverment are often blurred.

Can you offer a biblical defense as to why slavery would or would not be allowed in this imaginary theocracy?

man has been given over to rule himself. If he outlaws slavery in his goverments then slavery would be outlawed.

if slavery was allowed then yes.

Would there be freedom of speech in a theocracy?

It would depend on the goverment.

Would a theocracy allow capital punishment and if so how would it be carried out?

it would be allowed scripturally. It would be carried out anyway that soceity deemed appropriate.

Would businesses be able to charge interest on loans?

Again we have been given the authority to decide whatever we wish. I think your confusing biblical Christianity and OT Judaism.

Would you personally want to live in a theocracy if your own religion was in charge?

Do you think that women would be treated fairly or have the rights that they have now?

most of them... I would think the right to kill babies would be repealed.

What version of Christianity would be considered Christian?

Under my rule all Jesus Christ/bible centered religions would be accepted.

A theocracy would be a repressive and dangerous place to live no matter which religion controlled the laws but I am interested in whether some religious people that visit here think. If you are religious, do you think a theocracy would work if your religion was in charge?

If you've read the bible in your time as a Christian you should probably come a cross the passage where Pilot was questioning Christ concerning His Kingdom, and Christ answered it is not of this world. I believe this extends theocracies as well. In that we can not as man set fourth a system of goverment designed to worship God, because in the end we will muck it up, and push people from God. If you are a theists and you don't want to answer all my questions, at least respond to this one. If your religion was in control of the government, would you want to live in a theocracy? Why or why not?
