Yeah... although we only managed that more than 50000 years after we'd been around as a species, it sounds plausible that such a migration could occur. But maybe we as modern mammals are better suited for changing climatic conditions, and there were more severe biological limits on how well the raptor guys could adapt to different climates and food.
