Anyway the question I have is this. Afterlife. Do atheist believe in an afterlife? thanks
Um, depends.
Lets make something clear, "atheist" has nothing to do with level of education. It can be argued as an average, but the word itself is not a notation of a academic degree.
I have run into atheists who hold some really nutty positions, like the universe being a thinking being. I have run into others who think 9/11 was an inside job. I have run into others who buy into JFK conspiracies.
And there are Buddhists who do not believe in gods. but do believe in reincarnation and Karma. There are Jews who like the traditions but don't believe in a god.
There are even atheists who stupidly think that mere energy waves can behave in the same manor as an in tact human brain. It would be as stupid as thinking smashing your computer into tiny bits and still expecting the individual parts to behave like the in tact computer.
So the reality is the word "atheist" merely means "off" on god claims, it does not preclude them from holding other nutty ideas. It only refers to god claims.
So it depends on the individual atheist what they personally belief just like any other group. The only thing atheists ultimately have in common is "off" on god claims.
