I would tell him to stop. It's all well and good to not want to hurt his feelings but he's the one refusing to accept you as you are. That's hurting your feelings. Ask him how he would feel if you texted him to have a happy Ramadan.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
