You also dream every night even though you may not even be aware that you had a dream. You are likely not in control of any of your dreams, as evidenced by the fact that most people easily accept even the strangest scenarios when we are dreaming. Even the dreams you remember, you probably joined partway through.
Tell me again how the "I" is doing anything in any of those instances.
I should add that I find it amusing that you, of all people, suddenly don't accept "I said so" as an argument. Perhaps you are making progress after all.
I ALREADY SAID SO. (you like that?)

You are presuming that when the brain is engaged in the dream activity the I is off when the medical science has still to discover how the system works.
The medical science still hasn't got a clue about the role of the consciousness and the interaction between the brain and the consciousness but you come out with your ......I SAID SO.
How the hell would you know whether the consciousness is active or not during the sleeping and dreaming process or of any other body process like the heart beat?
You presume that if you are not awake the I is off.
How do you know that?
In yoga the I works like in any speeding process.
It can go slow, fast or can keep any speed according to the individual stamina so when the individual is sleeping it would go very very slow and when is awake it would go as fast as the individual stamina allow.
If the I goes very very slow also the brain goes very very slow and that is the stage in which there is a deep sleep with no dreams and only the heart beat and other body activities works but when the I is still a bit more active then also the brain is a little bit active with the so called dreams.
