Dozens... becomes far less funny. Hundreds, and you've got damn good justification to fear for your life... if lynch mobs, potential trafficking, and gang rapes in general are anything to go by.

Some parts of our society does take it extremely seriously... but there's plenty who certainly don't. Rape tends to harm everyone involved, the raped person most egregiously, but... guilt can tear a person up inside.
I thought men were told to grin and bear it; to toughen up (buttercup). Women can usually get social support from somewhere, but there're plenty of cases where 'their skirt was too short' or 'i don't see any bruises' or 'are you sure you didn't like it? you sounded like you liked it to me'.
TLDR: Rape sucks. Peeps should stop doing it.

Depends on how small you are, and how many people share your cell. If you're easily overtaken? Then yeah... you're fucked. Pretty boys are doomed from the moment they walk in. Not the same for everyone... there are cliques in prison. Bullying is quite often done in group form, and loners, unless sufficiently intimidating, will likely be coerced.
