I'm sorry. I missed you previous remark.. I just didn't see. So I'll try and provide an answer for both you and Brakeman.
Here is a link to the LDS apologetics site which explains about the Book of Abraham. but first, I'll make a couple of comments. I understand that it is said that the particular plate pictured in Brakeman's post is nothing more than an Egyptian burial rite and that the head of the priest is supposed to be the head Of Anubis. Well to me, it doesn't seem likely that there exists a creature with the body of a man and the head of a dog. What is more likely, is that the priest would be wearing a ceremonial head piece over his head in the form of a dog. In any case it would be a man, and it is depicted as a man in the plate in the Book of Abraham. There was no need to show the headdress.
There are other differences, but I'll let the article explain them.
