iPhone batteries...
#5
RE: iPhone batteries...
I have reported the matter to the to eBay, to PayPal and to counterfeit.com.au (my police report failed at the last page so I probably have to do it all again). The only other eBay listing to an Australian bluishness is this one. I wouldn't trust them because 1. they've removed the manufacture date from the listing photo and 2. the battery in the photo is used - just look at the bent power cable. Want to see something even worse? Have a look at this one. $19.99 + 9.90 postage for a battery they tell you is used!

Oh and FYI, if you are replacing your battery it's very very easy but do remember that it's a piece of electronics and needs to be handled carefully and most importantly in a static-free environment. Now the scam only works if customers are too stupid to realise the battery is used - if you can't tell the difference between a used battery and a new one, if you can't at the very least read the manufacture date on the battery, then what the fuck are you doing toying with electronics in the first place??

Oh and some further info - the real problem is Apple. They're a C.U.N.T of a company. They don't care about extending the life of their products, it's called planned obsolescence and they want you to throw away your phone every 2 years. It's unbelievably fucking wasteful. Let me give you another example of waste here in Australia, most private health insurance gives the customer the option to get a "free" pair of glasses every 2 years. Regardless of whether they're needed or not. The government subsidises private health cover - they pay about 1/3rd of the cost. So the taxpayer are the ones paying for this wasteful shit.

They refuse to sell iPhone batteries. And if you've already done self-repairs on your phone then they will illegally refuse to accept your phone for repairs, etc. If you need a new battery they replace your phone with another one that probably doesn't have a new battery and charge you $109 or so. So where do you get new batteries then?

Well that's why it's fucking difficult. You either have scum sellers who buy used batteries from alibaba that may or may not have a gold-wrapper around them; or you have batteries that you know are new but are 3rd party and probably are not worth the risk, and then you have companies like ifixit *(as fas as I know) - (USA) and appleipodparts (UK):

That have sourced the batteries from the factories that supply them to Apple. But where the fuck can I buy one in Australia then?

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
