No, we're only required to tell the police anything in the event of pedophilia only. If an underage minor tells us s/he is being sexually abused, we are required to call the cops (and I have zero beef with that), but otherwise, we are specifically told to not inform the police of anything the victim tells us, they have absolute confidentiality. If they say they wish to kill themselves, we are not required but strongly urged nevertheless to have them immediately contact a suicide prevention hotline. I kind of wish that we could have a direct patch-in line to the SPH so that we can bring one of the suicide prevention counselors into the conversation directly...
