Even when the surviving jews went back to auschwitz the grounds were perserved as a museum a shrine to not only the Jews but to the Germans as well. Why? So the survivors do not attempt to erase one side of the story or the other. That only the truth remain.
First of all this was not a "re-enactment" like a war re-enactment. It was a memorialization of an event. We weren't pretending to be the 600 men and women that walked that path on Bloody Sunday. If we were, then yes, someone would have pretended to be the Alabama State Troopers as well. We were a group of people looking to remember what the people who went before us went through so that we could walk over that bridge 50 years later without fear.

The film I watched vilified Governor Wallace, who called for segregation forever. It vilified the Trooper who murdered Jimmie Lee Jackson. It vilified the real systemic problems that purposely put people of color at a disadvantage. It did not vilify all white authority. It vilified that white authority. That system.

I asked about 60's police officers to take our history back from morally bankrupt people who would dare to say all police in that era beat black people with clubs and tear gas 24/7.
I hate the way this generation is re writting history to suit its self righteous agenda so I make comments and ask questions to make people think beyond the box pop culture would have you stay in...
But I guess your right an anti button is a bad idea here. We would not want to offend any non whites.
You are so seriously deluded by the bullshit you watch on Fox News. No one has EVER said that every white man was lining up in the streets to kick every black man. I have not heard it. I know it to not be true. The movie Selma showed some of those white people lining up to march with Dr. King in the second march. But you won't acknowledge that.
You have some utter nerve to accuse ANYONE of rewriting history to suit their agenda. You want to discount the idea of telling the story of those who struggled because there were some people present that were doing the bare minimum as decent humans? You don't want their story to get washed out when we look back?
I'll tell you what, Drich. You sing the hymns of the aggrieved white man, who has it so hard these days. Sing it loud. Hopefully someone will give a shit. It's not me.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
