But the other side of the coin is the harm that comes from religion.
We must study Islamic theology (at least the basic doctrine) because the stupids need to be woken up that Islam is not a religion of peace, but is on a par with Nazism. Would we say Nazism can just be ignored? Of course not. We need to identify dangerous ideologies wherever they are and protect ourselves against them.
A head in the sand approach just gets you kicked up the backside.
