You mean unlike using the force of law to ban gay marriages? The very fact that you think homosexuals are illegitimate is all anyone needs to know about you and your participation in this and similar conversations.
First world countries have agreed to establish societies that are free, open and tolerant based on ever evolving enlightenment principles. There has been a great amount of struggle reaching the point we are at today, with obvious room for improvement. Having to stop along the way to address bigots that cannot translate a previous abstract lesson learned to a particular concrete scenario is frustrating beyond compare. You rationalize nonexistent differences even going so far as to make the ridiculous claim that previous instances of bigotry and resulting discrimination was the fault of government interference. You cannot be taken seriously. Attempting to shield overt discrimination with a market based defense is simply loathsome.
