Thank you so much for all of your replies and for making me feel so welcome I already feel that I will fit in well here. *happy zebra noises*
@Brakeman: Hahaha xD There's no doubt that religious tradition is quite a big part of life in rural areas of Ireland. Going to church every week would be the norm for most families, and households would generally have holy water fonts beside their doors. Mentions of god are also often used in daily conversation. For example, talking about the weather is one of the most common topics of small talk over here when you pass people you know, and commonly-heard phrases would include things like: "It's a lovely day, thanks be to god." and "Please god, the rain will stay away.". (Typing that out I realise how stereotypically Irish that sounds xD) A lot of this comes from the older generation however, and the majority of young people would be very casual Catholics, if at all. Would religion be a big part life for a lot of people in the places where you guys here live?
@robvalue: I fully agree with you What you said reminds me of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot". Nice to meet you too!
@Nope, @pocaracas, @Allnewoutlook, @Neimenovic, @Judi Lynn, @AFTT47: Hello, and thank you kindly for your welcomes!
@polar bear: Phew... perhaps we should draw out lines to mark our territory though, just in case.
