It isn't unusual for him to be up 24 to 36 hours straight a couple or three times a week with hard crashes in between. He has been dealing with it now for going on 40 years, but it is having long term negative consequences to his overall health.
I cannot even begin to imagine staying up that long. Even my diagnosed insomnia doesn't last that long. Sorry to hear that.
