The USA in particular seems to have a fetish with Israelis considering the money they spend with them.

The religious right has the biggest fetish and since they are still strong enough to influence elections, the fetish becomes political. And it's not that they love jews or Israel that much. It's their Armageddon porn that makes them drool over Israel. See profs posts for reference.

Ironically they want the jews to be killed. The ones that don't convert to Jesus anyway. But the massacre hast to follow the Armageddon ruleset, which means that prior to being killed, the jews must own the whole of the biblical Palestine.
