We brits do enjoy taking the piss out of people, ourselves included, and it seems to be the central theme to most of our humour. Most people seem to know this about brits. So, you'll imagine my surprise when one day I was poking fun at america and american in the group got all defensive. He complained about the english stereotype that all americans are stupid. I replied with "Are you claiming that you elected bush twice in a row because you're all evil vicious b*stards? Because that's the alternative."
I don't believe this, obviously. It's just a little joke. But on the subject of US English. "I could care less" is my number one pet peeve, followed by "Addicting" instead of "Addictive" and the erroneous plural form of the word Lego.
If I ever hear anyone say "I could care less about how addicting Legos are" I think I may be pushed to violence.
