The trains in Germany, then, must not be as bad as one might think from your earlier comments elsewhere. In the early 1980's, German rail, from my limited experience, seemed to be near perfection. I was very impressed.
No they are not. There is quite the difference between fear of violently crashing into the scenery, and having a few minutes delay every once in a while.
