Why are we here?

If you know it to be true, showing us the evidence for  it shouldn't be difficult.

Or, is this going to be another of those "personal testimony" things that prove precisely nothing?

I never see you giving evidence when you make claims against God but, I'll give you one. Before returning to a participating role and worship in church I smoked a lot. I had never been able to quit, over the many years I tried, no success. I gave it another shot one day and this time I was able to quit, wasn't sure how, it just happened. Well it wasn't very long before I returned to church, no more smoking, drinking or drugs, but only a halfhearted effort. The longer I went the more involved I became, not that I wanted to but because the church asked me to take certain roles or jobs in the church. I guess I should mention here before going own that I knew no one at this church when I started going there. With in a year I was asked to lead the youth group, as a teacher and within one and a half years was voted in as a deacon to the church, didn't feel like I was ready for this great responsibility and did everything I knew to get shed of it. To no avail, God was working so that I could have these jobs, to help those who were in need and to guide the churches children in study and character. After I had been the youth leader for awhile I realized that God had helped me to stop smoking so I could be a good example before the kids, I was as happy as I've ever been, God given purpose to help others and be blessed while doing something so enjoyable. None of this would have ever been possible on my own, why, I gave the answer earlier, I didn't want it.
