Rob, is it possible that the God of the OT is the "real" god and his $currency$ is in "prayer". But because he is so demanding of worship, the prayers he receives daily is not even enough to get him out of bed in the morning.  That's why it only "seems" like he doesn't exist! We're just not trying hard enough, therefore not worthy ... I'm cool with that.
