Over 100 billion galaxies, each with more than 100 billion stars, and an untold number of planets... of course there is other life in the universe.
So far, we have found 2000 extra-solar planets just in out galactic neighborhood. Stars with planets seem to the default, not the exception.
This is one of the latest finds -

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
