Most Christians pay less attention to these characters than atheist do, we see through them for what they are, atheist however want to use such nonsense as main line Christianity because they know they can't use the solid Christian denominations to argue against.

You are aware that prosperity gospel preachers are the most popular, right? Osteen, Creflo, et al. make millions every year off of thousands-to-millions of suckers that think salvation can be found in a book (snicker), DVD, water bottle, and other merchandise. Those megachurches aren't filled by actors.
Not only do they represent modern Christianity, they're basically the non-Catholic spokespeople for it. They make the rounds in popular media all the time. Osteen has been on the Today Show several times in the past year. I'm sure other big name pastors have done the early morning talk show circuit, among other appearances, too. You can dismiss them as being a minor offshoot just because you don't agree with them. Their social presence demonstrates otherwise.
