Computer Science / Information Security Pop Quiz

Computer Science / Information Security Pop Quiz
Last night in IRC, Shell B made us all feel dumb by setting us a history pop quiz which everyone failed miserably. It was then my turn to make everyone feel dumb by setting a pop quiz based on Computer Science and Information Security. If you want to see how good you are, here it is:

1) Name the person who is generally accepted as the father of modern computing.

2) Name three things the above person is known for in computing.

3) If you have a very large list of integers (whole numbers), which two algorithms will sort them in the fastest time on average?

4) What does an HTTP Error Code 404 mean?

5) What main protocol does the Internet run on?

6) Packets on the Internet are usually carried over wires. What alternative method of transportation was suggested in RFC 1149?

7) What does the 'S' stand for in HTTPS?

8) What does WWW stand for?

9) After which number were Google named?

10) According to a 2001 study, how large is the "deep web", also known as the "invisible web" or the "darknet"?

11) In public key cryptography, which key is generally used to encrypt, the public key or the private key?

12) How many packets are exchanged in order to set up a TCP connection?

13) What seemingly impossible thing does Diffie Hellman key exchange allow you to do?
